Day 4's Notes - Continued 繼續第四天的雜記

Námafjall Hverir is a spectacular, otherworldly geothermal area located in North Iceland near Lake Mývatn. This unique landscape, often compared to the surface of Mars, is defined by its raw volcanic power: bubbling mud pots, hissing fumaroles (steam vents), and vibrant mineral deposits that saturate the air with an intense sulfur smell. Easily accessible off the Ring Road (Route 1) and a popular stop on the Diamond Circle, Hverir features marked trails that allow for safe exploration of this barren, yet mesmerizing, terrain.

I remember walking through these smoky fumaroles; the thick, dark vapor and the intense smell of sulfur were so overwhelming that they vividly brought the underworld to mind, creating a terrifying atmosphere.

納馬菲亞爾赫維爾是一處壯觀而又宛如外星世界的地熱區，位於冰島北部米湖附近。這片獨特的景觀常被比作火星表面，其標誌性特徵是原始的火山能量：沸騰的泥漿池、嘶嘶作響的噴氣孔（蒸汽噴口）以及散發著濃烈硫磺氣味的富含礦物質的沉積物。赫維爾交通便利，可輕鬆從環島公路（1號公路）抵達，也是鑽石圈的熱門景點。這裡設有標示清晰的步道，方便遊客安全地探索這片荒涼卻又令人著迷的地形。

我記得走在這一處處冒煙的噴氣口中，煙霧迷漫，黑黑暗暗的，再加上濃烈的硫磺味，讓我連想到陰間地獄，有些恐怖。

Grjótagjá 格里奧塔峽洞穴

Grjótagjá is a small lava cave near Lake Mývatn, famous for its hidden pool of geothermally heated water. Once a popular bathing spot, the cave sits directly on the rift zone between the American and European tectonic plates, making it extremely sensitive to volcanic activity. During the eruptions at the nearby Krafla system (1975–1980), the water temperature skyrocketed to 60 °C, forcing the cave to close due to the extreme heat.

Though it was first discovered by bathers in 1938, it was not until the water cooled down that Grjótagjá finally reopened in 2004. Today, it remains a fascinating, albeit often too-warm, stop near Mývatn.

格里奧塔峽洞穴是米湖附近的一個小型熔岩洞穴，因其隱藏的地熱溫泉池而聞名。這洞穴曾是熱門的溫泉浴場，它位於美洲板塊和歐洲板塊之間的裂谷帶上，因此極易受到火山活動的影響。在附近的克拉夫拉火山系統（Krafla）噴發期間（1975-1980 年），水溫飆升至攝氏 60 度，極端高溫迫使洞穴關閉。
