Day 3's Notes - Continued 繼續第三天的雜記

Hveravellir is a unique, protected geothermal nature reserve and a popular tourist stop located along the Kjölur highland route (Route F35) in the central Icelandic interior. It is a prominent part of the Oddnýjarhnjúkur-Langjökull volcanic system.

The area is renowned for its spectacular natural hot springs and vividly colored sinter formations. Key features include boiling mud pools, steaming fumaroles, and the famous bathing pool (a hot tub) where visitors can relax in the naturally heated water.

Historically, Hveravellir served as a refuge for the infamous 18th-century outlaw, Fjalla-Eyvindur (Eyvindur of the Mountains), who lived there with his wife, Halla, for many years. Today, the site provides a well-equipped service center, including accommodation and a restaurant, making it an essential stop for travelers traversing the rugged highlands.

The free natural pool we visited featured a rudimentary changing room, yet it stood a noticeable distance from the actual hot spring. After quickly changing into our swimsuits, we clutched our clothes and made a frantic dash through the cold, whipping wind toward the steaming pool. That exposed sprint was simultaneously exhilarating and a little embarrassing! Fortunately, few other tourists were around, allowing us to settle into a relaxing and comfortable soak.

I distinctly remember the treacherous, slippery stones around the pool's edge and on the bottom. My younger siblings wisely cautioned me to temper my excitement and mind my footing. The sensation of the icy highland breeze sweeping across my head while my body was fully immersed in the intense heat was a contrast that made the entire experience truly unforgettable.

赫韋拉韋利爾是一個獨特受保護的地熱自然保護區，也是位於冰島中部內陸高地公路（F35 公路）沿線的熱門旅遊景點。它是奧德尼亞爾赫努克-朗約庫爾 (Oddnýjarhnjúkur-Langjökull) 火山系統的重要組成部分。

這裏以其壯觀的天然溫泉和色彩鮮豔的溫泉泉華/煤渣地形而聞名。主要景觀包括沸騰的泥漿池、冒著蒸氣的火山噴氣孔，以及著名的溫泉浴池（熱水浴缸），遊客可以在這裡享受天然加熱的溫泉水，放鬆身心。

在歷史上，赫韋拉韋利爾曾是 18 世紀臭名昭著的亡命之徒菲亞拉·埃溫杜爾的避難所，他與妻子哈拉在此生活多年。如今，這裡已成為設施完善的服務中心，包括住宿和餐廳，是穿越崎嶇高地的旅客必經的休憩站。

印象中，我們去的免費天然池，有一個簡單的更衣室，但離溫泉池還有一段距離。我們匆匆換上泳衣後，抱著衣物，頂著凜冽的寒風，拼命地衝向熱氣騰騰的溫泉池。又刺激、又興奮、再帶些狼狽的感覺，好在沒什麼其他遊客，我們泡了一個又放鬆、又舒適的溫泉。

我還記得溫泉池旁和池底有ㄧ些濕滑的石頭，弟弟妹妹提醒我不要興奮過頭，還是得小心些注意腳下。那種冰冷的高原微風拂過頭頂，而身體浸泡在熱熱的溫泉中，這種強烈的對比讓整個體驗令人難忘。

This is a truly unique and charming accommodation choice. The owner's artistic eye is evident throughout, with many creative items available for sale in the guesthouse. We stayed in a triple room, but the bathroom was in the hallway, making it feel a bit like a student dormitory. Breakfast is included and offers a good selection. Overall, this family-run guesthouse is quite cozy.

這是一個非常獨特且可愛的住宿選擇。店主的藝術品味在賓館的各個角落都體現得淋漓盡致，許多創意十足的物品在賓館內出售。我們入住的是三人房，但是衛浴設備是在走廊上，公共的，有一點像住學生宿舍ㄧ般。這裏包早餐，食物選項不少。總而言之，這個家庭式的賓館，蠻溫馨舒適的。
