Day 3's Notes - Continued 繼續第三天的雜記

Gullfoss ("Golden Falls") is a majestic waterfall located in the canyon of the Hvítá river in southwestern Iceland. This is no average cascade; Gullfoss is a two-tiered marvel that plunges dramatically into a narrow gorge. The waterfall features an 11-meter first drop, followed by a more significant 21-meter descent. This double-cascade design greatly enhances its visual drama and impact, making it one of Iceland’s most iconic and beloved natural wonders. It remains a key attraction along the country’s popular Golden Circle route.

We had a long drive to the north ahead of us, and my sister and I did not want my brother driving late at night. The weather was also incredibly windy. Because of this, we only quickly snapped a few pictures near the falls before promptly leaving.

古佛斯瀑布/黄金瀑布是位於冰島西南部惠特 (Hvítá) 河峽谷中的雄偉瀑布。它不是一般的瀑布，而是一座雙層瀑布，氣勢磅礴地傾瀉而下，驟降入狹窄的峽谷中。瀑布的第一層落差為 11 公尺，第二層落差更大，達 21 公尺。這種雙層瀑布在視覺上大大地增強了它的戲劇性衝擊效果，使其成為冰島最具代表和最受歡迎的自然奇觀之一。它至今仍是冰島熱門旅遊路線「黃金圈」上的重要景點。

我們接下來要往北開很長一段路，我和妹妹不想讓弟弟開車開太晚，而且那天風特別大，所以我們只在瀑布附近匆匆拍了幾張照片，就趕緊離開了。

Kjalvegur (Route F35) 凱爾維古爾公路

Kjalvegur (also known as Route F35) is a famous highland road in Iceland that traverses the island's remote interior. Running between the vast Langjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers, it connects the southern and northern parts of the country, offering a spectacularly scenic but challenging journey. The route is approximately 104 miles (167 kilometers) long and features variable terrain, including both smooth and rough sections that require a four-wheel-drive (4x4) vehicle. Key attractions along the F35 include the Hveravellir geothermal area and the dramatic Kerlingarfjöll mountain range. (Note: Most mountain roads in Iceland are classified as F-class roads. "F" stands for fjall, which means mountain in Icelandic. These roads are unpaved and the terrain is quite rugged. Potholes are not uncommon, and sometimes drivers even have to wade through rivers.)

凱爾維古爾公路（又稱 F35 公路）是冰島一條著名的高地公路，貫穿島嶼偏遠的內陸地區。它位於廣闊的朗格冰川（Langjökull）和霍夫斯冰川（Hofsjökull）之間，連接冰島的南北兩部分，沿途風景壯麗，但也充滿挑戰。這條公路全長約 167 公里（104 英里），地形複雜多變，既有平坦的路段，也有崎嶇不平的路段，需要四驅車輛才能通行。 F35 公路沿線的主要景點包括赫韋拉韋利爾地熱區（Hveravellir）和雄偉的凱林加山脈（Kerlingarfjöll）。 (註: 冰島的大部分山路被稱為 F 級公路。「F」代表 fjall，在冰島語中是山的意思。這些道路並未鋪砌，而且地形相當崎嶇。路上遇到坑洞並不罕見，有時甚至需要司機涉水過河。)
