2025 年 4 月 28 日我們繼續前ㄧ天的花蓮遊，準備去赤科山玩。日治時代，整片山頭盛產堅硬赤柯樹(森氏櫟)，當時被輸出到日本做成槍托而著名，這也是赤柯山名稱的由來。赤科山以「赤科三景」(千噸石龜、三巨石、汪家古厝) 與金針花海聞名，金針花季是在每年的 8-9 月，整片山丘遍滿黃澄澄的金針花海，吸引非常多的遊客。當初選這旅程也是看在金針花海的壯闊景致上，只是沒注意什麼時候是金針花盛開的季節，我們 4 月底去，當然看不到金針花海。後來也才明白為什麽前一天是乘坐多人的大巴士，而這天卻是小型休旅車，遊客就是我們五人。導遊兼司機能完全配合我們的步調，調整時間，也很不錯。
On April 28, 2025, we continued our Hualien trip from the day before. During the Japanese colonial era, the entire mountain was rich in hardy Mori Oak (Cyclobalanopsis morii), which were exported to Japan and made into famous gunstocks. This is where the name Chike Mountain comes from. Chike Mountain is famous for its "Three Scenic Spots of Chike" — the Thousand-Ton Turtle Stone, the Three Giant Rocks, and the Wang Family Historic Residence — as well as its sea of daylilies. The daylily season, which runs from August to September each year, blankets the hillsides in vibrant yellow and attracts numerous tourists. We had originally chosen this trip to see the magnificent spectacle of the blooming daylily fields, but we hadn't checked when they would be in full bloom. We visited in late April, so naturally, the daylilies were not in season. Later, we realized why we had traveled in a large bus the day before but were now in a minivan — the five of us were the only ones there. Our guide and driver were very helpful, adjusting the schedule and pace to suit our small group.

說實在，我現在看了我照的照片，我猜我當時實在沒專心聽導遊司機介紹景點，照出來的照片都不是重點。LOL! 只有最後導遊司機需要與公司交差的到此ㄧ遊合照，我才看到這三個黑色火成岩石頭。看了網上的照片，可以看得出金針花期的美景，著實與現今的照片大有岀入，但是我記得當時走在蔥蔥郁郁無人的綠草地中，感覺是非常輕鬆自在的。
Honestly, looking back at the photos I took, I realize I wasn’t really paying close attention to the guide’s introduction to the attraction. As a result, the photos I took missed the key points and weren’t exactly highlights. LOL! It was only at the end—when the guide/driver needed to take a group photo for the company he worked for, as part of reporting the completion of the tour—that I finally noticed those three black igneous rocks. Looking at photos online, you can really see the beauty of the daylily blooming season, which is quite different from what I captured today. Still, I remember walking among the lush green grass with no crowds around, feeling completely relaxed and at ease.
汪家古厝 Wang Family Historic Residence
汪家古厝，一個半木造的四合院，位於花蓮玉里的高寮村。1959 年八七水災，西部農田慘遭摧毀。有些災民便轉往東部後山開墾。汪家也是其中之ㄧ家。初時憑著在嘉義農作經驗，種稻、龍眼、養豬，但成果不佳，後來發現金針最為適合山上氣候，也因越來越多人仿效種植，至今形成台灣最大金針產區之一。汪家古厝是根據汪家阿公嘉義老家的建築形式建造的，使用赤柯山上當時伐木遺留的木材，請嘉義師傅修葺而成。因山區瓦片取得不易，屋頂改以茅油氈紙取代，金針花季時，為解決曬金針場地不足問題，茅油氈紙屋頂演變為曬金針的場地，形成特殊景觀。如今，不僅是欣賞金針花的景點，也提供住宿及餐飲的服務。我們去的時候不是金針花期的旺季，與在菜園中工作的人聊天，頗有趣的。
The Wang Family Historic Residence, a semi-timbered courtyard house, is located in Gaoliao Village, Yuli District, Hualien. The August 7, 1959 flood devastated farmland in western Taiwan, prompting some victims to move to the eastern mountains in search of land to cultivate. The Wang family was among them. Drawing on their farming experience in Chiayi, they initially tried cultivating rice, longan, and raising pigs, but with limited success. Eventually, they discovered that daylilies were well-suited to the mountain climate. As more people followed their lead, the area developed into one of Taiwan’s largest daylily production regions. The Wang Family Historic Residence was modeled after the family’s grandfather’s home in Chiayi. It was built using leftover wood from logging operations on Chike Mountain and renovated by craftsmen from Chiayi. Because tiles were hard to obtain in the mountains, the roof was covered with thatch felt paper instead. During the daylily season, the limited space for drying the flowers led to the creative use of the thatch felt roof as a drying area, creating a unique and memorable sight. Today, the Wang Family Historic Residence is not only a scenic spot for viewing daylilies but also offers accommodations and dining. When we visited, it wasn’t peak daylily season, so it was especially interesting to chat with the people working in the vegetable garden.

其實我是後來搜尋網路才知道這些照片在哪裏照的。記得當時看到花很漂亮，就請司機先生停車讓我們看看。在這裏才看到一些平地種金針花，但是這種顏色淡，與盛名的高山種金針花海的品種不同。
I actually only found out where these photos were taken later, by searching online. I remember seeing the beautiful flowers and asking the driver to stop so we could take a look. It was here that I first saw some flatland species daylilies, though they were pale in color, unlike the famous alpine species daylily fields.
千噸石龜 Thousand-Ton Turtle Stone
不需要太多文字介紹，看著這塊巨石便能理解它的名字由來。我們去的時候，ㄧ羣泰國來的年輕人，在上面擺手弄姿，拍照拍得很有樂趣。當然我們也不能輸陣。
This massive rock doesn't need much explanation; just by looking at it, you can understand its name. When we visited, a group of young Thais were having a blast posing and taking photos on it. Of course, we couldn't be outdone—we had to take a great picture too.
天心茶園 Tian Xin Tea Company
司機說這是他朋友的茶園，請我們去喝杯茶。裏面的工作人園還讓我穿上採茶的道具，扮演一下採茶女，像嗎？
The driver said this was his friend's tea garden and invited us to have a cup of tea. The staff inside even asked me to wear tea picking props and play the role of a tea picker. Did I look like one?
回玉里火車站 Return to Yuli Train Station
花蓮真的是一個旅遊休閒的好地方。不去什麼大景踮，放放風也不錯。
Hualien is a great place for leisure and tourism. Even if you don't visit any major attractions, it's still a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
