The 2025 Dodgers didn’t just win a World Series — they told a story. A story of resilience, redemption, and the quiet strength of players who carried not only their bats and gloves but also the weight of expectations, memories, and dreams. As I watched their journey unfold, it wasn’t just the victories that moved me — it was the personalities, the quirks, the quiet leaders, and the unlikely heroes who made this championship feel profoundly human.
I’m a complete novice when it comes to baseball; I know almost nothing about individual players or team statistics. Yet there were stories in this World Series that felt special — moments I want to remember and record for the future.

But what impressed me most wasn’t his winning performance — it was his exemplary character. After his final pitch, he didn’t immediately return to the locker room; instead, he quietly picked up the scattered water bottles and cleaned the players’ rest area. I admire his parents — or perhaps Japanese culture — for instilling such values through small acts like these, thereby shaping the character necessary for a successful life.
Another thing that surprised me was his training method. I was curious how this not-so-tall pitcher could throw 17 innings in just eight days—like a superman. After his complete game in Game 2, he even considered coming in to save the game in the 18th inning of Game 3. When I looked it up online, I found that his training combines Eastern philosophy with Western physical methods, emphasizing the harmonious and coordinated use of different parts of the body rather than traditional weightlifting. His routine includes handstands, stretching, simulated javelin throwing, and breathing control, all aimed at making the body function more efficiently for better performance and recovery. It reminded me of the idea of using softness to overcome hardness, like in Tai Chi.
I was also drawn to his post game interview after the seventh game, especially when he said, “Because I gave it my all, I feel so good.” It was very touching. I also admire his ability to face and overcome the anxiety and fear that came with the challenge, giving himself the chance to succeed.

我也被他第七場球賽完的訪問吸引了，其中這句：「正因為全力已赴，才能有真的太好了的心情」。很感人。並且很佩服他能面對並克服挑戰帶來的不安及懼怕，給自己一個成功的機會。
Shohei Ohtani 大谷翔平 (綽號別稱: 陸奧的達比修, 真二刀流, ShoTime)
Shohei Ohtani, the designated hitter and pitcher, is probably already a familiar name to baseball fans, but I only began paying attention to him after he joined Major League Baseball’s (MLB) 50–50 club last year (2024). On September 20, 2024, he became the first and only player in MLB history to record 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. He finished that year with an incredible 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases.
This year (2025), Ohtani somehow outdid himself again—setting another unbelievable record with 50 home runs and 50 strikeouts as a pitcher. He ended the season with 55 home runs and 62 strikeouts. (Here is Youtube highlights.) Two-way players—guys who can both pitch and hit at an elite level—are almost unheard of, which is exactly why he’s captured the world’s attention.
Then came his jaw-dropping performance in World Series Game 3. Ohtani went 4-for-4 at the plate with two home runs, two doubles, and three RBIs. He reached base an incredible nine times in the 18-inning marathon, including five walks—four of them intentional. His performance tied a World Series record with four extra-base hits in a single game. Overall, in the 2025 World Series, Shohei Ohtani had a .265 batting average with 18 hits, 8 home runs, 14 RBIs, and 13 runs scored across 17 games.
In 2025, he picked up his third straight (and fourth overall) National League Silver Slugger Award as a designated hitter. He also earned the NLCS MVP and the National League MVP award as well as Hank Aaron Award (for the top overall offensive player).
No wonder so many baseball fans can’t stop talking about him.

Watching that game was both excruciating and exhilarating. I was thrilled when Freeman finally ended it with his walk-off blast—mostly because it meant I could finally go to bed! I can’t imagine how exhausted the players must have been after such a grueling battle.
