World Through My Eyes: 2025.10.15 Hike at Cold Spring Harbor State Park, Huntington, New York

Cold Spring Harbor State Park, a hilly park on the north shore of Long Island, New York, offers scenic views of Cold Spring Harbor. It consists mostly of steep, wooded slopes and is intended to maintain a natural, undeveloped character. According to AllTrails, the Cold Spring Harbor Trailhead to Lawrence Hill Road is an out-and-back trail covering 1.9 miles, with an elevation gain of 387 feet. It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. There are several different paths in the woods, and we just randomly picked one when we reached a crossroads. I really enjoyed walking in the woods. I heard some unusual bird calls, but unfortunately, I didn’t see the bird and couldn’t identify it. Overall, it was a refreshing outing.
