Peddler's Village is located between Doylestown and New Hope, Pennsylvania. This storybook-like destination features beautifully landscaped gardens surrounded by quaint colonial-style buildings that house a diverse collection of distinctive shops, restaurants, and lodging. The village hosts a variety of events and festivals throughout the year, depending on the season and occasion.
One of Peddler's Village’s most beloved autumn traditions is the renowned Scarecrow Design Competition. This year's competition, which begins on September 8, 2025, will feature 150 handcrafted scarecrows created by Philly-area residents and organizations. Some are inspired by famous characters, others are humorous, and some are downright spooky. Visitors are invited to vote for their favorite scarecrows before October 13, and the displays will remain on view until October 26.
This is a revered Bucks County tradition and a one-of-a-kind event in the region. Many of the creative entries are truly impressive. At the bottom of this article, you’ll find a link to some samples of Scarecrow’s creations from 2021.
