Plant: Shortpod Mustard (Hirschfeldia incana) 短莢芥

There are mustard plants in Peck Road Park too. Unlike the Black Mustard in Chino Hills State Park, the mustard plant here is Shortpod Mustard which is shorter. Hirschfeldia incana is known by many common names, including shortpod mustard, buchanweed, hoary mustard and Mediterranean mustard. The species is native to the Mediterranean Basin. Its leaves are edible.
