When I walked on the Lengshuikeng-Qingtiangang Trail in Yangmingshan National Park in Taiwan in July 2022, besides cicadas I also saw Athyma selenophora laela. It is sexual dimorphism. The photos below are of a male Nymphalus. You can see both female and male Athyma selenophora laela on this blog. They are mainly seen in the low and middle altitudes of Taiwan Island. Common names (in Chinese) include: Taiwan small nymph, Taiwan small one word butterfly, stick-banded nymph, crescent-shaped nymph, jade flower butterfly, small single-banded nymph.

- Athyma selenophora laela is a species of Athyma in the family Nymphalidae.
- Athyma selenophora laela is sexual dimorphism. It is easy to tell them apart. The wing pattern of the female butterfly is typical of the linear nymphalus, with several white stripes on the wing. The male butterfly has the back of the wing with a distinct leucorrhea in the center.
- They are mainly seen in the low and middle altitudes of Taiwan Island. Guishan Island and Penghu also have records of them. They also can be seen all over the eastern region outside the Philippines.
- Mainly inhabits in evergreen broad-leaved forests and coastal forest environments.
- 異紋帶蛺蝶是蛺蝶科的帶蛺蝶屬。別名有: 台灣小一字蝶、台灣小一文字蝶、棒帶蛺蝶、臺灣小一字蝶、臺灣小一文字蝶、新月帶蛺蝶、玉花蝶、小單帶蛺蝶及小一文字蝶。
- 異紋帶蛺蝶是雌雄異型，容易區別，雌蝶翅紋呈典型線蛺蝶型，翅面構成數條白色帶紋，雄蝶則翅背面，中央斑帶有一鮮明白帶。
- 屬於多世代蝶種。
- 主要見於臺灣本島低、中海拔地帶，龜山島及澎湖也有記錄。也遍及菲律賓以外之東洋區。
- 主要棲息在常綠闊葉林、海岸林等環境。
